Kaiseian Park and Lake Isuzu

Kaiseizan Park is the symbol of Asaka Pioneering that was a foundation of the development of Koriyama City. This is appreciated by citizens as an oasis that is a precious heritage of Asaka Pioneering. Kaiseizan Park is noted as a cherry blossom-viewing spot with 1,300 cherry trees including Yoshino cherry trees, wild cherry trees, and Kanzan or Sekiyama cherry trees that produce a joy of spring.

Koriyama Public Hall

"Pubic Hall" with a retrospective clock tower is one of the representative buildings constructed during the Taisho Period. It was built to commemorate the municipalization of Koriyama City in 1924. It is one of the cherry blossom-viewing spots.

The Fujita River Fureai (Commuion) Cherry Blossoms

370 Yoshino cherry trees bloom to the fullest on the both sides of the river extending for 3 kilometers around the Fujitagawa Horinouchi Bridge. The specialties include fishing, light-up and carp streamers that we put up at the time of cherry blossoming.

Fudo Cherry Tree

This is a weeping cherry tree of Edohigashi near Fudo Temple that enshrines Fudo Myooh (Cetaka). It is estimated to be 350 years old, and the temple was uses as a temple school.

Beni Shidare Jizo (Guardian deity of children) Cherry Tree

This is a weeping cherry tree at the age of 400 years or so. The Jizo Temple is situated under the cherry tree. People came here to pray before the Jizo to avoid misfortunes, such as shorter life span of a baby and a premature mortality.

Autumn

Sakabuta Park

This park is located in the western part of Araike Agricultural Park, and provided with Japanese red pines and black pines around the pond. The name "Sakabuta" has a meaning of "Covered" on the ground that one pond was divided into two ponds to make Araike Pond during the time of Edo Period. Visitors may enjoy each color alteration of four seasons, such as cherries in spring and tinted leaves in autumn in this park.

Grandma’s Folklore Teahouse

"Grandma’s Folklore Teahouse" is situated next to the tourist information center on the 2nd floor of the Koriyama Station.
