1. Typhoon

Many typhoons approach and hit Japanese Islands every year, and frequently cause severe damage to us with strong wind and heavy rain. Pay attention to information relating to typhoon, and prepare for the emergency.

Check weather information by television set, radio or through Internet.

Acquisition of disaster information

Pay attention to warning given by Koriyama City or Disaster Prevention Organization using disaster prevention radio or loudspeaker van.

Confirmation of belongings

Prepare a flashlight and a cell phone (backup battery).

Communication among family members

Go back home as soon as possible to communicate with other family members.

Protection of furniture

Move the important furniture and household items to the higher and the safer places as much as possible.

Prepare the emergency items.(at least for 3 days)

Shoes sensible for your movement

Moving barefoot or in boots is dangerous. Prepare sports shoes.

Tie up bodies with rope

Tie up bodies with rope to prevent from straying from the others in case of evacuation. Pay a strict attention to children.

Walkable water depth

When the water depth exceeds 50 centimeters, walking is difficult. Evacuate as soon as possible.

Beware of the ground

Dangerous things, such as manholes and side ditches are under the water. Use a long stick to confirm your foot when walking.

For children and elderly people

A ring buoy is helpful for children and the aged people. However, do not use the ring buoy where the ground is out of reach to prevent them from drifting.

2. Earthquake

Japan has many occurrences of earthquakes. To minimize the damage in the occurrence of earthquake, each one is required to learn basic knowledge for taking an appropriate and rational action against the earthquake.

Safety for yourself

If you feel quake, go under cover of a desk or a table. Protect your head with soft materials such as s cushion.

Evacuate on foot and bring your possessions to the minimum.

Wear clothes uninterruptible to your action. Bring only necessity with your on the back.
