In Japan, the compulsory education system is applied to the period of six years at Elementary School and three years at Junior High School. A foreign national is not obligated to take such education, but may take the same education as the one for Japanese children. In respect of the new admission and the admission for a transfer student to Elementary School and Junior High School, please inquire the following division.

After graduating from Junior High School, a child may advance to Senior High School for three years, and then he or she may proceed to Junior College for two years or University for four years. In respect of Prefectural Senior High School, please inquire the following group, and for the details of Private Senior High School, Junior College and University, please inquire the respective school.
